Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes admits he is looking forward to his third trip to South Africa this summer.

The 30-year-old visited the nation for the 2009 Confederations Cup and to the World Cup last year as part of the Brazil squad.

Now with Spurs set to take part in the Vodacom Challenge in the coming weeks, the Brazilian is looking forward to travelling back to South Africa.

“First of all, the people are so friendly and they love football,” he said.

“They love to be at the stadium and as everyone knows from the World Cup, the atmosphere is special, a lot different to other countries.

“It’s a great atmosphere to play football in.

“The stadiums are also fantastic and South Africa did very well for the World Cup. The feeling for the game there is unbelievable.

“I think it will be ideal preparation for us and we have to be ready for the start of the season.

“We know it will be tougher than ever because everyone knows about Tottenham now and what we can do.”

Spurs kick off the three-team competition against Kaizer Chiefs on July 16th before facing the Orlando Pirates in July 19th.

The South African giants then take on each other on July 21st before the final on July 23rd.
