Lyon midfielder Miralem Pjanic is being subject to intense speulation from Tottenham.

The 21-year-old is said to be a replacement for Croatian Luka Modric, who continues to be courted by Chelsea.

Spurs have already turned down two bids of £22m and £27m for the 25-year-old while contiuously issuing statements that their prized asset is not available.

However, the Blues missed out on target Javier Pastore over the weekend, who opted for a move to French side Paris St. Germain rather than Chelsea.

It is now being reported that the West London side are set to bump up their offer to £40m, an offer which could see Spurs seriously contemplate selling the diminutive playmaker.

And the North London outfit are lining up Pjanic as a possible replacement for the Chelsea target.

Pjanic shot to fame with the French side and has impressed since joining in 2008 from Metz.

The Bosnian international, who has attracted interest from Lazio and Aston Villa in recent weeks, is said to be valued at around the £10m mark.
