Tottenham look set to focus their attention on Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi as their search for a new striker continues.
Reports suggested that Atletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente had become top target after the Spanish international hit 19 league goals last season, one more than the current Spurs striking quartet mustered between them
However, Bilbao are un-willing to accept anything less than the £31.6m release clause currently instered into Llorente's contract.
Such news has seen Italian international Rossi emerge once more as a target for manager Harry Redknapp.
Any move for the 24-year-old will depend on Spurs shifting a number of fringe players with Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios all linked with moves away from White Hart Lane in recent days.
