Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admits talks over Lassana Diarra are ongoing with Real Madrid.
The North London outfit made their move for the former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder this month as they try and strike a deal for the French international.
Redknapp is a big admirer of the midfielder powerhouse, having worked with him at Portsmouth before his move to the Spanish capital in 2009.
A fee is yet to be agreed between both both but Redknapp confirmed that chairman Daniel Levy is still trying to broker a deal to bring the 26-year-old to White Hart Lane.
"As for Diarra, I like him," Redknapp said.
"It's a possibility. [The chairman's] been trying for us. He's been trying to do something there."
Reports suggest that Diarra has already turned down a move to Galatasaray as he looks for a move back to the Premier League.
