Who I would like to see play on Thursday night

Ben McAleer in ARTICLES, Europa League, Hearts

I think, barring a minor miracle, Spurs passage to the Europa League is all but secure.

The 5-0 hammering of Hearts was more of a testimonial or a pre-season friendly rather than a competitive fixture, no disrespect to the SPL side but barring a brief spell of pressure in the second half, they never really looked like threatening Gomes in goal.

Considering the return leg is at White Hart Lane, I fully expect Spurs to qualify with minimum ease.

Which is why I'm hoping to see a number of youth team players given their competitive debuts or add to the vital experience they already have.

So, below is the starting XI I am hoping to see on Thursday evening.

Gomes (seeing as Friedel is our new number 1, Redknapp may as well give him the minutes)

Rose
Gallas (match fitness and all that)
Bassong (Put him in the shop window)
Smith

Bostock
Livermore
Modric (just to cup tie him even if he's subbed after 30 seconds)
Cabellos

Kane
Coulibaly

Mostly youth but a number of senior squad members for match fitness. It will be interesting to see Redknapps choices come Thursday night.
