Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric and his advisors have reportedly met with chairman Daniel Levy to discuss his future at the club.

The 25-year-old has long been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane and has expressed his desire to join rivals Chelsea.

As of yet, the Blues haven't launched a third bid for the player, having seen two bids of £22m and £27m rejected.

The news comes as Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas refuses to rule out a renewed offer to bring the Croatian to Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp revealed on Wednesday that Levy had contacted Chelsea to inform them they had no chance of signing the midfielder.

This hasn't put a stop to speculation however and Villas-Boas remained coy when quizzed on the diminutive playmaker.

"I just have to speak to the owner (Roman Abramovich) when this kind of thing happens," the Chelsea manager said.

"When there's an offer, there's a counter-offer and then you reach an agreement.

"Modric's name is already out too much in the press. Let's leave it.

"He's Harry Redknapp's player. He's not my player, unfortunately.
