De Telegraaf is today running a story confirming that our esteemed chairman Daniel Levy is indeed in Amsterdam discussing a possible deal for Jan vertonghen.
As reported over the past week, the deal has hit a sng with Ajax wanting around 15 million Euro's for their captain, with Levy only willing to go as high as 12 million.
A deal is yet to be struck, but reports now cliam Vertonghen only wants to move to Spurs, which is good news, and has urged Ajax to reject any bid that isn't from Spurs, which is even better news.
Furtermore, it has been suggested that the Belgium international is willing to hand in a transfer request in order to force through the move, which could come to fruition this week.
The story, in Dutch, is linked at the top and shows Levy with Vertonghen's agent Mustapha Nakhli. Rumours are also linking Spurs with a possible move for Danish star Christian Eriksen, who has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs.
Either way, something is looking more and more likely to happen this week.
