With news that Besiktas are looking into the possibility of taking Emmanuel Adebayor off Spurs' hands, here are three reasons as to why I think it would be a good move.
1) New start for Ade
It has been a long time coming, but if the switch to Turkey does happen then the Togolese forward will finally get the fresh start that everyone wants for him. While he has been happy to sit on his huge wages for some time now, you can't help but feel that he could still be scoring goals rather than rusting in the background, so I hope that any deal taking him to a new club goes through.
2) Funds for Spurs
Andre Villas-Boas has made it no secret that he wants rid of the striker to gain some extra funds for new players, so will be over the moon should it transpire. Adebayor is reportedly earning around £100,000-per-week in wages so the Portuguese boss will be able to add another option beside Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe.
3) Breath of fresh air for the fans
It has rumbled on for some time now, the fact that Adebayor is not wanted by the fans. His lacklustre performances have enraged them to the point that they are all too happy for him to never wear the shirt again.
A move away from the club will lift the massive stink that is surrounding the whole ordeal for everyone.
