Should Sherwood Swoop For Striker With 17 Goals In 15 Games, Offload Holtby And Look For Left-Back This Month?

Ask any Spurs fan if they have enjoyed this season and I am sure the majority would say no, although there have certainly been perks. With all the changes behind the scenes and the losses to London rivals Arsenal and West Ham, twice, things could have gone better. A lot better. But I am here to suggest to Tim Sherwood that he needs to make a few changes this month to spark the Spurs revival.

The first thing I would do, is sign a forward to come in and replace the departing Jermain Defoe. Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor are currently leading the line, but there is one striker who I think should come in and help them, and that man is Alfred Finnbogason.

The 24-year-old is currently plying his trade with Dutch side Heerenveen and is in scintillating form. So far this season he has scored 17 goals in 15 games in the league and claimed five assists, which I think you would agree is a sensational return.

I would also look to get in a left-back to solidify the backline, as Kyle Naughton and Danny Rose have been very poor this season.

Then, just to round it up, I would get rid of Lewis Holtby, as there seem to be a host of players standing in his way in terms of the first team. Holtby is a decent little player who offers a lot to the cause, but to see him rusting in the background is frustrating and the money could probably be better spent elsewhere.
