Redknapp still wants Cahill

Harry Redknapp has admitted he is still keen on bringing Bolton Wanderers centre-back Gary Cahill to White Hart Lane.

The 25-year-old was reportedly close to securing a deal to Tottenham in the summer, only for the deal to fall through as both parties failed to agree a fee.

Reports suggest Spurs are still keen on the England international, whose current deal with the Trotters runs out next summer, and Redknapp has confirmed his intention to sign Cahill in the new year.

"We were able to negotiate a deal with West Ham for (Scott) Parker, but we couldn't get a deal done for Cahill," he told the Sunday Mirror. 

"That's not to say we won't try again in January. If the chairman can reach an agreement with Bolton I'd love to bring him here."

LA Galaxy's David Beckham has also been linked with a move to Spurs in January, following the end of the MLS season and his contract expiring next month.

Redknapp, however, has dismissed speculation that a deal for the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder stating: "I'm not aware of any agreement with David.

"I've always had the utmost admiration for him as a player and he's a fantastic role model.

"I wouldn't rule anything in or out. The biggest problem is accommodating him in the side because I have an abundance of riches in midfield."

Paris St. Germain and QPR have also been heavily linked with a move for the former England captain.
