Foster linked with move to Spurs

Birmingham City number one Ben Foster has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane as a replacement for under fire Heurelho Gomes.

Foster, who recently announced his temporary reitrement from International football, has proven a huge hit at St. Andrew's with a series of stand out performances which culminated has culminated in a Carling Cup winners medal.

It is these displays that has seen Foster firmly placed on Harry Redknapp's radar as the Tottenham manager looks to shake up his squad after the North london club missed out on fourth place last night.

A series of high profile errors, the latest in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool, from Gomes has left Redknapp wondering as to whether the Brazilian is good enough to keep the number one spot as the club look to push on after the heartbreak of missing Champions League football.

West Ham's Rob Green was seen as a possible solution to the goalkeeping problem but Redknapp see's Foster as a more viable replacement in between the sticks.

At the other end of the pitch, it is being reported that the club will be open to offers for striking pair Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe. Both have been hit and miss this campaign and Redknapp would like to boost his striking options with Espanyol's Pablo Osvaldo and Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal viable options for the Spurs manager.
