Tottenham readying Leandro bid

As reported yesterday, Brazilian sensation Leandro Damiao is on Tottenham's radar as Harry Redknapp looks to boost his forward line.

The current crop have failed to fire Tottenham back into the Champions League and manager Redknapp sees Leandro as the perfect signing to launch an assualt to re-break the top four next season.

The 21 year-old has scored 22 goals in 24 games for Internacional and has attracted the interested of Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, it is Spurs who find themselves front of the queue due to the commercial partnership both sides share.

With Leandro's agent due in London this week for talks for potential suitors, Spurs have opted against playing the waiting game and high ranking board members have flown to Brazil to wrap up a deal for the striker.

Leandro is expected to cost around £10m.
