Spurs aim to wrap up Leandro deal

Tottenham are looking to wrap up a deal for Leandro Damiao by the end of the week.

The North London outfit have been hot on the heels of the Brazilian for most of the transfer window and have, this far, had a bid of £10.6m rejected.

However, that hasn't detered Spurs who are reportedly locked in talks with Internacional in order to bring the Brazilian to White Hart Lane.

Leandro came to prominence after scoring 22 goals in 24 appearances last season, more league goals than current crop Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch scored combined.

His performances caught the attention of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United however it is Spurs who sit at the front on the queue due to the commercial relationship set up between the two clubs.

Spurs are known to be in the market for a new striker and have been linked with Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero and Pablo Osvaldo in recent weeks.
