Khumalo eager to impress
South African international Bongani Khumalo is eager to remind Tottenham what he can do after a brief loan spell with Preston North End last season.
The 24-year-old arrived from Supersport United in January but is yet to feature for the first team and was an unused substitute in three games.
A subsequent loan spell with Preston in March was pre-maturely cut short after Khumalo suffered a fractured metatarsal.
He is still recovering from his injury but was delighted with the opportunity to get some games under his belt despite Preston's relegation.
"It was a great experience to play my first matches in England," he told the clubs official website.
"I worked hard at Spurs with all the coaches, got used to the environment, the players and conditions, and it was great to get a test of all I'd learned at Preston.
"I did all I could, but my loan spell was cut short through injury."
Khumalo hopes to be part of Spurs' pre-season programme and is continuing his rehabilitation at the Chigwell training ground.
"Everything's on track," he added.
"I've been running again and that felt good. I've missed that feeling.
"I'm getting stronger and stronger and building up my fitness again."
