Palacios deal could be off

Wilson Palacios' proposed move to Napoli could be off after the Italian side baulked at Spurs asking price.

The North London outfit want to recoup as much as the £12m they spent on the Honduran in 2009 as they can.

Napoli appeared to have secured his signature yesterday with a deal expected to be completed by the weekend.

However, there £7m offer is thought to be way below Spurs valuation of the midfielder who has found first team chances limited this season after a succession of knee injuries and the emergence of Sandro.

"Wilson interests us a lot. But negotiations have stalled for now." Napoli Sporting Director Riccardo Bigon said.

"Tottenham are ready to sell him outright, but they want a lot of money in order to let him go.

"I've spoken with his agent as the player is currently on holiday.

"Everything should become clearer in seven to ten days time. Let's wait and see what happens."

It is reported that Sevilla are willing to match Tottenham's valuation for the player and could jump to the front of the queue should negotiations between Spurs and Napoli continue to stall
