Spurs set for Spain raid

Tottenham are reportedly keen on the signings of Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo and Ibrahim Afellay of Barcelona.

Negredo, who is valued at £18m, has previously been subject to interest from Spurs and after enjoying his most successful season to date with Sevilla, many media outlets are predicting a flurry of activity regarding the player before the end of the transfer window.

The North London outfit are hoping to bolster their front-line this summer after manager Harry Redknapp's current crop failed to fire the club to back-to-back top four finishes.

It is thought that Spurs could use Mexican Giovani Dos Santos as a makeweight in any potential deal for Negredo as they look to keep the costs down.

Afellay is also thought to be linked with a possible exit from Spanish champions Barcelona after the signing of Alexis Sanchez and it is thought the Dutchman could be available for as little as £4m.

Reports on Friday suggested that Catalan giants were ready to cash in on the former PSV midfielder as they look to raise the necessary funds to sign Cesc Fabregas.
