Strong teams for upcoming friendlies

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confessed he will be fielding two strong line-ups for the Spurs XI encounter with Leyton Orient today and the game against Brighton tomorrow.

Redknapp has said he will use the two matches to give the players a 90 minute run-out ahead of the upcoming season.

The first team have played three games so far, lifting the Vodacom Challenge in South Africa, while the likes of Jermain Defoe, Vedran Corluka, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Niko Kranjcar, Danny Rose and David Bentley all up their pre-season fitness in the 5-3 win over MK Dons on Tuesday night.

Redknapp now admits he will go all out against Leyton Orient and Brighton with the pre-season programme now in full swing.

“We’re looking to get 90 minutes into all the players now. The lads will all play a full game," he told the clubs official website.

“We’re sending a strong squad to Orient with players like Kyle Walker, Alan Hutton, Danny Rose, Wilson Palacios, Steven Pienaar, David Bentley, Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar. It’s a strong team.

“We’ll mix the lads up and play a team at Orient and a team at Brighton.”

The senior squad have, thus far, won only one of their initial three games, the 3-0 win over Orlando Pirates last weekend.
