Livermore out to impress

Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore is hoping the clubs' participation in the Europa League will help aid his development at White Hart Lane.

Manager Harry Redknapp has vowed to use youth in the competition as the Premier League looks to take his priority. 

And Livermore is keen to grab the opportunity with both hands as he looks to showecase his ability to Redknapp.

"I'm hoping the Europa League can be a little shop window for me where I can get some games and show the manager what I can do," the 21-year-old said.

"Hopefully from there I can start getting some Premier League starts and cement a place."

Livermore, who signed from MK Dons three-years ago, has made just one senior appearance for Spurs but is relishing the opporunity to play against some of Europe's best clubs with the North London outfit having taken on the likes of AC Milan and Real Madrid last year.

"Obviously you want to test yourself against those sorts of players," he added.

"As a kid you either want to play for them or against those sorts of teams. It was good to watch the lads play them."
