Foxes line up Keane move

Championship contenders Leicester City are said to be lining up a move for out of favour Tottenham striker Robbie Keane.

The Republic of Ireland captain earlier this week admitted he is looking to leave Spurs before the close of the window after falling down the pecking order.

Currently fourth choice forward at White Hart Lane, the 31-year-old is said to prefer to remain in the Premiership but didn't rule out a drop in divisions.

Now Sven Goran Eriksson, who is in the market for a new frontman after missing out on Leroy Lita, is said to be planning an audacious swoop for Ireland's all time leading goalscorer.

"I always said if we can get a striker with a good goalscoring record, we are going to try," explained Eriksson.

"If there is a proven striker who can score 20 goals, then we'll work hard to bring him in."

Reports suggest the Foxes are readying a £3m bid for Keane.
