Keane waits on Galaxy move

Robbie Keane will today learn whether his move to LA Galaxy has gone through or not.

The American side agreed a reported £3.5m fee with Tottenham for the striker however, the transfer deadline for MLS sides was midnight EST (5am GMT).

Any move was reportedly dependant on Galaxy losing one of their three high-wage earners or 'designated players'.

David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Juan Pablo Angel all took up said position with the club and if any of the three should leave, it would be the latter with Philadelphia Union reportedly keen on buying the former Aston Villa striker.

No official statement has been made regarding the move but president Tom Payne insisted any signing wouldn't be formally announced until Monday evening UK time.

31-year-old Keane has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs and the North London outfit are keen to free-up his wages in order to bring in new signings before the close of the transfer window.
