January exit on the cards for Gomes
Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes could be set for a January exit, according to Harry Redknapp.
The Spurs manager continuously persisted with the error prone Brazilian last season, despite a series of high profile gaffes.
But, the arrival of Brad Friedel in the summer has seen the former PSV shot stopper ousted as the clubs number one, while Carlo Cudicini has been preferred in the Europa League.
Redknapp doesn't doubt his goalkeeping ability but concedes the 30-year-old could be sold in the winter as he looks to secure a spot with the national team for the 2014 World Cup.
"He wants to play at the World Cup with Brazil, so it's going to be a problem. We'll wait until the next window and see where that takes us," Redknapp said of Gomes.
"He has done nothing wrong. He's a fantastic goalkeeper and a great pro. I just went with Carlo in Greece and he was magnificent.
"I'm very lucky I have three top goalkeepers here and it's unlucky for the two not in the team. They would get in other teams, for sure."
