Spurs hoping to claim first spot, albeit, temporarily

Tottenham are hoping to continue their rich vein of form against an out-of-form Wolves side, who haven’t picked up a victory since their 2-1 win over Sunderland back in December.

Harry Redknapp’s side have the chance to go joint-top with Manchester City with a win, with the league leaders not set to play until Monday night.

However, the Spurs boss will take on Mick McCarthy’s team without the likes of Ledley King, William Gallas and Sandro.

King is still suffering from a hamstring problem while Gallas and Sandro are likely to remain sidelined due to their respective calf strains.

Scott Parker, who missed the wins over West Bromwich Albion and Everton, remains doubtful with a knee problem he suffered during the 1-1 draw with Swansea City.

Tom Huddlestone, who has started light training this month, is still some way from match fitness and is expected to return from ankle surgery next month.

Potential starting XI

Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Livermore, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart, Adebayor

Key battle

Steven Fletcher has been in superb form for Wolves, despite their poor fun of form, and remains the clubs top scorer. Both Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul should have enough about them to keep the front-man at bay but will need to be on their toes in order to ensure his input is kept to a minimum.
