Can Spurs Challenge For The Europa League Title?

Tottenham reinvested heavily over the summer after the loss of Gareth Bale and it looks like it's starting to pay off. Spurs have won five of their Premier League games from their first eight and sit level on points with Manchester City, but it's their form in the Europa League that has impressed. But do they have a real chance of winning the competition?

Three wins from three has seen the north London side rise to the top of Group K, ahead of Anzhi Makhachkala - who they beat 2-0 in Russia, Tromso - who they battered 3-0 at home, and Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol who the latest losers, as Spurs coasted to a 2-0 win.

So, three games, three wins and not a single goal conceded. Things are going swimmingly for Spurs as they edge closer to securing their spot in the knockout rounds. Swansea also sit top of their respected group, as do Fiorentina, Eintracht Frankfurt and Sevilla, as well as Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

There is still some way to go in the competition, but you'd have to say that Spurs are up there with the favourites. Andre Villas-Boas has the club firing right now and is making use of what he has at the back, and the options in midfield is likely to be the area of the pitch that finds the balance between the domestic competitions and their European adventure.

Can Spurs win the Europa League? Of course they can.
