Spurs Chasing Kagawa - Statistical Player Report

Tottenham have had a weekend to forget. Their 6-0 defeat at Manchester City will have had fans across north London wincing for hours and the majority are probably taking a bleaker outlook on life as a result. However, Sports Direct News have got some happier, well... news, for the Spurs fans, as they report that the clubs' board are ready to make a move for Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa.

Shinji Kagawa is a brilliant player, but at United he is hardly getting a sniff at first team football. Whilst at Borussia Dortmund, before his spell at Old Trafford, he was relied upon to to create the goal scoring opportunities and chipping in with a few goals himself, something he did on 29 occasions.

He is a nippy little player who thrives between the lines of the opposition, threading passes and carving defences with his nimble runs.

He would fit brilliantly with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela in an interchanging attacking midfield, or even as the focal point behind the centre-forward.

Kagawa made 20 appearances last season, although he completed just five, and scored six goals. He also made 19 key passes, racked up a pass completion rate of 90% and won 15/17 of his tackles - a trait which he is not renowned for.

Kagawa would be a sensational signing for the north London club, for me.

Another attacking mid? Siggy, eriksen, holtby, Dembele... We need a prolific left winger and a half decent forward, no more CAMs...
