Sandro impressing at White Hart Lane

Brazilian powerhouse Sandro has been turning heads the second half of the season with a series of fine performances alongside Luka Modric in the Spurs midfield at the expense of Tom Huddlestone.

Signed back in August, it wasn't until the last 16 first leg of Tottenham's 1-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro when Sandro began to show his worth. Initially struggling with the pace of the Premier League, he has begun to fulfill his promise and more is expected of him in the coming seasons.

Current captain Michael Dawson was quick to praise the midfielder quoting "Sandro’s performances in the Champions League were great and he certainly makes our job a lot easier.

He sits just in front, wins balls, breaks play up, tracks players and we all know now he can score goals after that strike at the weekend. He’s a top, top player.

“He’s also a great lad to have in and around the club.

"He’s still learning English but he’s full part of the banter and everyone loves him in the changing room.”

Harry Redknapp has echoed Dawson's sentiments saying "Sandro is emerging as a top player. He's come into the English game and his performance against City's strong midfield was excellent."

With one goal to his name, a 30 yard wonder strike in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea earlier in the month, more is expected to come from Sandro.
