Bale craves Redknapp stay

Gareth Bale has pleaded with manager Harry Redknapp to stay at Tottenham amidst speculation linking him with the vacant Chelsea job.

The West London club are in the market for a new manager after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti last week and Redknapp has emerged as favourite to succeed the Italian at Stamford Bridge.

Bale, who moved to quash speculation of a summer move last night, has asked his manager to decline any offer from Chelsea and stay in N17.

"I want him to stay, definitely." Bale said.

"Since I've been at the club we have had three managers and it's obviously nice to have him there because he has brought a bit of stability.

"We have got used to him and how he manages and how he wants us to play so it will be great to keep him.

"Nobody wants him to go and the club, I'm sure, will do everything they can to keep him."

Redknapp became favourite for the Chelsea job after a flurry of bets backing the Spurs boss for pastures new forced bookies to slash his odds from 25-1 to evens favourite.
