Redknapp rules out Defoe move

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has moved to rubbish speculation that Jermain Defoe will be joining Arsenal.

The England striker has been linked with a possible move away from White Hart Lane after poor form and injuries saw Defoe dropped from the starting XI in favour of Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch.

Redknapp, however believes Defoe wouldn't make the short journey across North London from White Hart Lane to the Emirates.

"I didn't see that. I couldn't see that one happening," Redknapp said of the speculation.

Defoe, who scored a total of eight goals last season, recently stated his unhappiness at a lack of first team action towards the end of last season
