Crouch to consider international future

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has said he will consider his international career over the summer.

Crouch was controversially dropped for the 2-2 draw with Switzerland on Saturday in favour of Darren Bent and Bobby Zamora.

The Spurs striker was reportedly unhappy with Fabio Capello's decision to drop him from the squad altogether and, despite reports of retirement from England as pre-mature, has conceded he will ponder his international career over the summer.

"I was bitterly disappointed not to be involved but it's the managers decision and I've got to live with that," he said.

"I will have to think things over in the summer. I don't want to make any stupid decisions as it is still fresh in my mind.

"I have got the summer now, I can take a break, get away from football for a bit, and see how I feel in pre-season."

Crouch has scored 22 goals in 42 appearances since making his international bow in 2005.
