Gallas haunted by strike

Sticking with the William Gallas theme, the Frenchman admits to being haunted by last summers strike at the World Cup.

A highly publicised spat between striker Nicholas Anelka and then coach Raymond Domenech overshadowed an embarrassing campaign which saw France leave the tournament early without winning one of their three group games.

Gallas now admits he fears his international career will be forever remembered for the strike which saw a number of players banned from the team.

"We made decisions that were wrong, but at the time we were in a bubble, we were oblivious. This image haunts me and I know it will pursue me," he told L'Equipe.

"I've had 16 years at the top level and one decision, one mistake has screwed up everything."
