Redknapp dismisses Ruiz link

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has moved to play down links with Costa Rican striker Bryan Ruiz.

Ruiz has been strongly linked with a move to the Premiership, with Arsenal and Fulham both taking a look in at the FC Twente star.

However, it is Spurs who have emerged as the favourites to bring the 25-year-old to England.

He was watched by Redknapp and his scouting staff during the clubs 2-2 draw with Benfica for Tuesday's Champions League qualifier, as Ruiz hit a late equiliser for the Dutch outfit.

Redknapp, however, refused to commit to speculation regarding Ruiz, with the clubs focus at the moment thought to be Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

"I went and watched the game and watched him play," Redknapp said.

"He is a good player but we are more desperate in other areas.

"I don't think anything is going to happen. He's a good player that I have watched before.

"I just like going to watch football matches so I thought I'd just go and see the game."

Come on Harry. You could have watched it on the box rather then fly to Holland. So, who else was on your radar?
