Llorente move on the cards

Tottenham and Athletic Bilbao are set to discuss terms over the potential transfer of striker Fernando Llorente this weekend when the two sides meet at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have been on the look-out for a new forward this summer and have seen top targets Giuseppe Rossi and Mirko Vucinic both turn down moves to North London.

Llorente, who scored 19 goals in La Liga last season, has been on Spurs' radar before but the North London outfit baulked at the £34m asking price.

However, with interest in the Spanish international having cooled over the last 12 months, his price-tag has plummeted to around the £20m mark.

Manager Harry Redknapp will be hoping to secure a deal prior to kick-off on Saturday due to the fact that Bilbao may hike the price up should Llorente out in a good performance against Spurs.

Meanwhile, reports are suggesting the Spurs are close to securing a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Whether this puts any potential move Llorente in jeopardy remains to be seen.
