Spurs looking to avenge August defeat
Tottenham Hotspur travel to Manchester City, hoping to pick up maximum points in their quest for domestic glory.
The reverse fixture at White Hart Lane back in August saw Harry Redknapp’s side on the wrong side of a 5-1 humbling.
However, the defeat spurred the Lilywhites into action and the North Londoners have suffered just one loss following the humiliating result on the afternoon.
Ledley King could be available to Redknapp, having started training again following a hamstring injury and could feature in his first game since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last month.
William Gallas and Sandro (both calf) have begun training again following their respective injuries while Tom Huddlestone (ankle) is still someway away from being match fit.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adebayor won’t be available to Redknapp due to stipulations in his loan deal preventing him from playing against his parent club.
Potential starting XI
Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart, Defoe
Key battles
Without Yaya Toure available, Scott Parker will be expected to control the proceedings in the middle of the park. Elsewhere on the pitch, Gareth Bale will need to be on the top of his game if he is to overcome Micah Richards on the left and with the England international likely to break forward, the Welsh international will need to up his game on Sunday afternoon while Ledley King, should he start, will be hoping to keep Sergio Aguero quiet in the top of the table encounter.

Have Defoe up front and if VDV looks like he’s having one of those games where he’s dead weight for the first half, bring on krankjar in the second half.
