Pavlyuchenko eager to stay
Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has admitted he wants to stay at White Hart Lane.
Despite a lack of first team action, the 29 year old is convinced his future lies with Tottenham despite interest from Russia with former club Spartak Moscow.
"There is a strong desire to pursue a career in Tottenham, with whom I have a contract." Pavlyuchenko said.
"A new contract will be discussed after the holidays - my agent will travel to London to hold talks with the leaders of Tottenham."
Pavlyuchenko, who scored both goals in the 2-1 over Birmingham City on the last day of the season thus cementing fifth place, finished the season as the clubs second highest goalscorer last season finishing behind Rafael Van der Vaart in the scoring charts.
However, the russian has admitted to becoming frustrated by a lack of starts saying "He (Redknapp) can play one team one week, and then play a very different team the next. It is hard to understand."
Nonetheless, he is confident Spurs can bounce back next season and re-cement a top four finish.
"I don't think we can become champions because Manchester United are strong but we certainly are able to take a place in the top three." he added.
