Two strikers that would be perfect at White Hart Lane

As a child, playing up front is the position that any kid wants to play. Pulling on the number nine shirt filled any youngster with the confidence to smash the ball into the back of the net on a regular basis, whether it was a kick about with friends with jumpers for goalposts or in an 11-a-side game for the local side, nothing felt better than knowing you were the main man; the primary source of goals.

The weak link in the Spurs team

With Spurs high-flying in the Premiership, it is easy to see why they are being labelled as perennial title contenders. 11 games unbeaten, 10 of which were wins, sees the North Londoners in third place with the potential to rise above Manchester United into second. Therefore, To the Lane and Back has taken the opportunity to determine whether or not the starting XI actually has any weak links?

Should Redknapp be starting Defoe over Van der Vaart?

It is a selection headache that any manager would crave, or even loathe. Jermain Defoe, the pint-sized hit-man, has been in superb form for Tottenham recently, adding to his goal tally with each passing game. But, waiting in the wings is Rafael Van der Vaart. The Dutchman has the ability to make something out of nothing, unlock the most subborn of defences with a simple pass and, once again nearing full-fitness, any fan would love the luxury of calling on the talented midfielder. Both can't play at the same time so what to do? Claire Needham investigates for To the Lane and Back.

The 3-1 win over West Brom was Tottenham's best of the season

#wwwwdwwwww was a favoured trending topic of Tottenham fans on Saturday evening. An excellent run of form that began at the beginning of September following a 2-0 win over Wolves, it is now 10 games unbeaten in the Premiership and a run that has catapulted the North London giants up to third in the table, just two points off second placed Manchester United.

Do we need Ade permanently?

To the Lane and Back does love Emmanuel Adebayor. Despite his Arsenal history, the way he has been playing since joining in August has been nothing short of superb. Clearly enjoying life at White Hart Lane, it got us thinking; would it be right to try and sign him permanently? Every fan knows how he performs when he becomes a bit too comfortable with his surroundings but his impact has been imperative to our rise up the table to third.

Would anything lower than third be a disappointment?

It sure was nice to wake up this morning and see Tottenham in third-place following the win over Villa. Even better was seeing that extra game in-hand over every team around us. With that in mind, a majority of Spurs fans have become confident that a top three finish is possible. With the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all struggling for form and consistency, Spurs are currently the in-form team chasing a top four spot. But is that enough? To the Lane and Back assesses whether or not anything lower than a top three finish could be considered a disappointment.
